Mobility Trust Group Receives $125K TA Grant From U.S. Treasury Department’s CDFI Fund

RICHMOND, Va., and WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Sept. 27, 2022 - Mobility Trust’s operating affiliate, Mobility Credit Acceptance, was awarded a grant of $125,000 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund.

The Fund granted 218 organizations a total of $27.57 million in Technical Assistance awards to build their capacity to provide services to low-income and underserved people and communities across America. Mobility Trust is one of the largest non-depository financial institutions providing credit to people with physical disabilities. Its loan products are used to purchase life-sustaining and enhancing equipment such as wheelchair accessible vehicles and allied products.

“I am pleased to announce the largest number of Technical Assistance awards in the history of the CDFI Program and NACA Program,” said CDFI Fund Director Jodie Harris. “The continuing high demand for funding for technical assistance reflects the urgent need that CDFIs are facing in their communities today. These awards will help CDFIs build their capacity and resilience to respond to the evolving economic and community development impacts in underserved and distressed communities across the country.”

The CDFI Program provides monetary awards to invest in and build the capacity of specialized financial institutions called Community Development Financial Institutions, empowering them to grow, achieve organizational sustainability, and contribute to the revitalization of low-income and distressed communities nationwide. Mobility Trust currently serves 36 states nationwide and will use the TA Award to expand its geographic footprint and benefit more people with physical disabilities across the country.
